The expanded version of Civilization and its Discontents was exhibited in 2005 at the Herbert F Johnson Museum of Cornell University, in Ithaca, New York, where I was invited by Andrea Inselmann, the curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, to make a site-specific installation that made use of the public spaces through out the museum. Here I was able to extend the discussion to include the museum, which is an institution devoted to the acquisition and preservation of valuable objects. In this project the stapled and deconstructed were exhibited, salon style, in one of the museums, galleries, while other elements, were distributed throughout the permanent collection.
