The Return of the Repressed was conceived for a group show, [B19], which was inspired by the contents of Sigmund Freud''s office in Vienna. I was asked to make a piece responding to his extensive use of Persian carpets throughout his offices. The project grew into a large and malleable installation that has been adapted and exhibited in several sites, and incorporates sculptural and pictorial elements. It is here pictured as installed at the Marie Walsh Sharpe Space Program in New York City.
